NURSERY RHYME

Choosing your Nursery Rhyme and being assigned that nursery rhyme will be on a FIRST COME, FIRST POST BASIS. No two people will animate the same nursery rhyme.

You must find the ryhme you want to animate (INTERNET IS A GREAT PLACE TO LOOK), then post a comment to THIS BLOG POST. Tell me your name and what rhyme you want to animate.

Here is a few nursery rhyme sites to get you started.
http://www.enchantedlearning.com/Rhymes.html
http://www.zelo.com/family/nursery/
http://www.geocities.com/EnchantedForest/Dell/3942/

Remember that the posts are time stamped so if there are two of you who want to do the same rhyme, whoever's post is stamped with the eariler time will be the one who gets to do that nursery rhyme. (I can explain this if it doesn't make sense.)

Below is a list of the requirements for this assignment. Please read them carefully and make sure you complete all of them. I expect you to read them all and follow them as listed.

Some examples of pervious animated nursery rhymes.
Sample Nursery Rhyme (I can’t find the others right now.
I will show you a few more tomorrow.
Remember also that we have TAKS tutorials on Thursday so first and second periods, you only have 3 days to work on this assignment.

REQUIREMENTS

The following items MUST appear or be used to create your PowerPoint Nursery Rhyme Project:

  • Create a folder and title it Name-Nursery Rhyme
  • Save as: Name-Nursery Rhyme
  • Readable fonts (being consistent throughout the entire slide show makes for a better looking assignment)
  • Font sizes that can be read from the back of the room
  • One slide for each line of the rhyme
  • Use appropriate backgrounds that fit with the story and subject of the rhyme (you may have to create your backgrounds instead of using the pre-made apply designs)
  • Use appropriate graphics that fit with the story and subject of the rhyme (you may have to create and draw your own graphics instead of using the pre-made clip-art)
  • Animate a graphic (moving of a graphic – not just a custom animation)
  • Animate some text (custom animation is fine)
  • Use slide transitions or no tranisitions (may make it flow better) between slides where appropriate
  • Use sound (from the Microsoft Office Program – pre-installed sounds)
  • Find and use a sound bite from the Internet
  • Everything should be set to run automatically (no mouse clicking at all)
  • Setup to turn-on as soon as it is opened (I will show you this)
  • A title page containing: the name of the Rhyme and who is responsible for creating the rhyme (who wrote it (if you can find that on the Internet – Bonus if you do) and who prepared the PowerPoint Project [your name]) date the page was accessed
from the top of the web page on the blue line
  • Bibliography slide containing: siting all resources you use to create this project. Site website of web pages you visited and took information from (where you got the words to the rhyme), books used, and etc. (Must use http://www.noodletools.com/ in order to format your bibliographies correctly – you can copy and paste the information from the site, but you have to know the information to create the bibliography first.) Example of a bibliography of a web page:
url address of the web page; must be indented on the 2nd line just as it appears here with the < > Name of Web page. 20 Nov. 2000
    <http://www.noodletools.com/>.
  • A closing slide – A the end slide of some kind. Be creative.

Bonuses:

  • If you don’t use any of the pre-made graphics or anything off the web – if you draw and create all of your pictures and backgrounds, etc. you will receive bonus points
  • If you discover something new or put something in your slide show that isn’t
  • If you have recorded voice of someone in your slide show (you will have to coordinate this with me).

NEW PROJECT: POWERPOINT CARTOON DUE FRIDAY, MARCH 28

Grades: the grades on your progress report are missing some grades because I have still not gotten everyones State PowerPoint project graded. You grade may seem a little lower than you thought because of it. However, some of you may have a higher grade listed on your Progress Report than you really actually have since I haven't finished grading everyones State PowerPoints. THEREFORE, everyone here this week should do a good job on your cartoon because it will only boost your grade. If you are not here this week, you will have the opportunity to increase your grade next week.

TODAY'S AGENDA:
1st period I will show you a few more examples today, now that my projector is turned around
1) Read the requirements listed for the Cartoon PowerPoint
2) Begin/continue working on your Cartoon PowerPoint
3) Remember that you must have all the requirements complete in your cartoon in order to get full credit and get a good grade.
4) I will go over the project with anyone who was not in class on Monday, yesterday

CARTOON POWERPOINT REQUIREMENTS: (make sure you complete all requirements)
